High Fives & Cupcakes
allcreatures:

A macro photo of a waterbear on moss. Tardigrades, commonly known as waterbears or moss piglets, are water-dwelling, segmented creatures with eight legs and measuring just 1mm in length. They are found throughout the world, including regions of extreme temperature, such as hot springs. They can survive extreme pressure, such as deep underwater. They can also survive high levels of radiation and can live in the vacuum of space for several days.

Took the kitties to the new house today. They very vocally expressed how much they didn’t enjoy the 45 min car ride for most of the 45 minutes. And poor Miso peed in his carrier and was soaking wet when we let him out (sadly don’t have a photo showing how sad and pathetic he looked!). But the country air must have appealed to them because they calmed down quickly and spent rest of the day super chilled and looking out the window. Sauce barely left the top bunk of the tree probably in fear that Miso would steal the choice spot. Wonder if they will miss suburban life or if they’ll like this new adventure more…

I encountered this on a walk around my block. At first I thought it was just 2 bees having some quality time…but then I looked at the photo and noticed a 3rd bee. I have no idea what is going on. Is it sexy time? Is the big bee being held down and taken without consent? Are the little bees somehow killing the big one or stealing its sweet pollen? Is the big one just a little bit slutty? Anyone know?

Update

orneryboy:

Today is the 10 year anniversary of Orneryboy.

Even though I haven’t posted a new strip in months, I couldn’t let this day slip by without at least letting everyone know that I’m still alive. Whenever I go this long without posting, it’s usually because I’m depressed, or because I’m in the hate phase of my love/hate relationship with the comic. But I’m happy to report that there are only GOOD reasons for my absence this time around.
